De Waterdraak + Concert
How does water make us move?
De Waterdraak is an interactive installation on Strand IJburg, celebrating the element of water through play, improvisation, movement and music. It is part of the series ‘Water, Wind and Sand,’ inviting people to connect with the elements of IJburg beach.
The dragon pulled water up from the lake through a 100m long hose, and spat it out through its intricate structure, built with kids and neighbors. A concert by SirFrances activated the installation during sunset.
The installation was funded by the municipality of Amsterdam, on our initiative to invite culture in this new part of the city.
