The design for a foldable beach chair for the summers at community center VrIJland involved two workshops for kids. Themed ‘underwater world,’ kids could pick their favorite sea creature and make a stencil. In the second workshop, we sewed the stencils onto fabric, which was used as a backrest for the chairs. The vibrant colors of underwater symbols decorate the IJburg beach and are recognised by the kids playing around.
