Modular cabinet with Venetian blinds
How to store infrastructure in infrastructure?
The aim was to build a cabinet wall for the multipurpose space in Wooncoöperatie De Warren. With a tall ceiling and glass facade on both sides, the beautiful space is used for concerts, workouts, gallery shows, talks and lectures, parties and much more.
As the community is still figuring out what to store here, the shelfs can be fully adjusted on a scaffolding grid. Additionally, six separate blocks can be used as benches or pedestals while storing light materials (like yoga mats) inside. The linen curtains can be pulled up and down with a cord and tied around the scaffolding posts to hide and reveal the storage space. No glue was used.
